norelem's portfolio includes stainless steel universal joints which, due to their high corrosion resistance are particularly suitable for outdoor applications or for use in the chemical, foodstuff or pharmaceutical industries.

The stainless steel (1.4301) universal joints transmit rotary movements or torques of shafts and compensate for axial misalignments. norelem has single or double universal joints in the range. Both variants have plain bearings. Due to this bearing type, the angle joints can compensate for significantly larger angular displacements compared to other types of couplings. The double universal joints, which have two bearing seats, can also compensate for radial misalignment.

Requirements according to purpose

The stainless steel universal joints from norelem are based on DIN 808. The maximum permissible speeds depend on the working angle and load, but should not exceed 500 rpm. The working angle is 45° for single universal joints and 90° for double universal joints, i.e. they can be swivelled to this extent.

The universal joints have almost no backlash. They are available with or without keyways. If a rotation lock is required, the type with keyway should be used. If universal joints are used in continuous operation, the user must ensure sufficient lubrication, e.g. by means of a rubber protective sleeve filled with grease. The guidelines for the use of stainless steel universal joints should be determined individually depending on the application.
